Xiaomi is discontinuing the Redmi Note 7 in India three months after its launch. The popular budget smartphone is being discontinued after the launch of Note 7S.
The Redmi Note 7 was launched in India in February for Rs 9,999. The smartphone has similar features to the Redmi Note 7s except a smaller 12MP camera at the back. Xiaomi’s Product PR Yash Garg took to Twitter to announce the company’s plan to discontinue the entry-level Note series smartphone in India.
Although Garg did not mention the reason behind the discontinuation, it is speculated that the company may have taken the decision in order to avoid any overlapping with the recently launched Note 7S which offers a better camera and is priced slightly higher than the Note 7.
To recall, Redmi Note 7 comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD ‘Dot-Notch’ display and has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It gets powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 32GB /64GB internal storage. It has a 12MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the rear and a 13MP front camera. The device starts at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB + 32GB variant.
The smartphone was so popular that Xiaomi decided to keep the smartphone available on open sale starting April. The company announced Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro recorded over 2 million sales in two months. To celebrate the success, Redmi announced a new smartphone with a 48MP camera smartphone which was later unveiled as the Note 7S.
The Note 7S has been launched in India for Rs 10,999 for the 3GB + 32GB variant whereas the 4GB + 64GB variant has been priced at Rs 12,999.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 series released to much applaud courtesy of its design and hardware overhaul from last generation’s Galaxy S series handsets. According to recent reports, the Galaxy S10 models may soon be available in a new finish.
Roland Quandt over at WinFuture.de shared images of the Galaxy S10 in the new red colour scheme. Quandt alleges that the new colour will be called “Cardinal Red,” and will be available for Galaxy S10 Plus and S10 variants. There is currently no mention about the colour coming to the Galaxy S10E. While Roland hasn’t mentioned when the new colour scheme will arrive, he believes it will arrive soon.
This isn’t the first time Samsung is launching a new colour scheme of its flagship devices well after their release. Last year, the South Korean tech giant announced the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus would be available in Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red Galaxy. However, only the gold edition made it to European, Australian, US and Asian markets, the red edition was only available in China and South Korea.
Roland followed up the tweet by mentioning that the Cardinal Red S10 and S10 Plus will be exclusive to some countries. If Quandt’s tweet is accurate, the Galaxy S10 would now be available in five colour options, while the Galaxy S10 Plus’ variants would go up by seven. At the moment, you can buy the Galaxy S10 in white, black, green, and blue. The Galaxy S10 Plus is also available in all of the colours as mentioned earlier with ceramic white and ceramic black the two additional options.

Huawei face backlash from Microsoft and ARM after US trade ban

Hardware isn’t the only issue Huawei is facing in lieu of the suspension.

Huawei is set to face yet another major setback after President Trump’s executive order called for a clampdown on Chinese technology companies. Less than a week after Google announced that it would revoke Huawei’s Android licence; two leading tech giants are about to follow suit.
Huawei’s business may be under threat from both Microsoft and ARM as both companies gear up to act on the recent White House order. Microsoft appears to have stopped selling Huawei notebooks on its online stores, while ARM has suspended business with the Chinese tech giant.
Currently searching for any Huawei hardware on Microsoft’s online store in the US won’t yield any results. On the other hand, Microsoft has remained silent on whether it would allow Huawei to obtain Windows licenses for its laptops. Revoking Huawei’s Windows OS license would have more adverse effects in Huawei’s server solutions.
But while removing Huawei hardware from the Microsoft store maybe bad, it isn’t nearly as bad as ARM suspending business with Huawei. The current suspension will prevent Huawei from building its own processors that are based on ARM designs and its HiSilicon fabless semiconductor company.
With Google revoking Huawei’s Android license and ARM suspending its business; the Chinese tech giant is set to face major setbacks on both the software and hardware front. And, while Huawei might be coming up with its own OS as an alternative to Android, but manufacturing chips seems to be out of the question.
An ARM spokesperson in a statement to The Verge mentioned: “ARM is complying with the latest restrictions set forth by the US government and is having ongoing conversations with the appropriate US government agencies to ensure we remain compliant.”
Hardware isn’t the only issue Huawei is facing in lieu of the suspension.
Interestingly, unlike Microsoft and Google, ARM isn’t a US-based company; it is based in the United Kingdom and owned by the Japanese SoftBank group. The US trade ban seems like it's having far-reaching implications on Huawei’s business on all fronts at the moment.

What has Ford equipped in the Ecosport Thunder Edition

One of the most prominent updates is the addition of black graphics on the bonnet, sides and rear.

American carmaker Ford is gearing up to update its sub-4 metre SUV, the EcoSport. While the car does not receive a major overhaul, it gets a thorough cosmetic upgrade.
One of the most prominent updates is the addition of black graphics on the bonnet, sides and rear. It also gets beige leather upholstery and a dual-tone dashboard. The Titanium Plus variant also receives black decals, which are expected to be standardised across all variants.
The car also receives new silver-finished 7-spoke alloys, akin to the current set of wheels. The update also includes a larger roof-mounted spoiler. The S version carries forward the black surrounds around the fog lamp, blacked out ORVMs and a black roof. The door pads now feature faux wooden elements, giving the cabin a richer look.
Mechanically, the car remains unchanged and continues its 1-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol EcoBoost engine which makes 123.24 bhp of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. It also gets 1.5-litre petrol as well as diesel engines as an option.
The Thunder Edition is expected to be launched next week and will be available alongside the standard EcoSport. However, it is reported that the Thunder Edition will carry a price tag of Rs 20,000 less than its corresponding variant. The car is expected to drop a few features to justify the price tag.
